Connecting Wireless At The HMS Quad

Welcome to the Student Computing wireless resource page for matriculated Harvard Medical (HMS), Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM), Division Of Medical Sciences (DMS), and Harvard Science and Technology (HST) pre-doctoral students.  Here you will find the resources to access the World Wide Web from your computer without the hassle of connecting via cable to the HMS wired network.

Accessing Wireless Points: The HMS wireless public and private networks are available in the Tosteson Medical Education Center, Vanderbilt Hall, and specific common areas in the Countway Library and Courtyard Cafe. View other access points on the HMS quad.

Buying Wireless Cards: Most computers can be configured upon request to have an internal wireless network card as an accessory. Make sure you tell the manufacturer that you would like an internal wireless card to be installed into your computer. You can buy an internal wireless card for both laptops and desktops. Check around to see if there are bargain hunting deals at stores.

Printing Services: Printing is available to registered matriculated predoctoral students via the private wireless HMS network. Read how to connect to the private HMS wireless network using Windows XP or Mac.

For Windows Vista, read the how-to on connecting to the private HMS wireless network using Vista.
